The not-for-profit station has grown up since then. It now boasts a trendy downtown location and permanent staff. It has partnered with 140 local Revelstoke businesses, sponsors events, cross promotes up and coming artists &amp; shows, and has a loyal following. However, like anything that develops organically, the people who have been with it since the beginning now need to move on. The current volunteer-based board of directors has grown-up alongside the station, and now have careers, kids, and busy lives. It is time for them to step down, and let the next generation of go-getter-radio-lovers take up the mantel and steer the station into the future.<strong> The Stoke FM annual general meeting (AGM) will take place virtually on June 1, 2020 at 7:30 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AGM is open to the public, and all current members have voting rights in the board of directors\u2019 election. <strong>During the AGM, Stoke FM will be electing a new president and up to five new board members<\/strong>. Stoke FM is calling on you to show up and help find the next generation of radio lovers. <strong>The station is looking for individuals who have:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Experience in radio operations <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience running a small business<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A background in finance or law <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience or background in advertising <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience with grant writing or fundraising <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Or a general passion for radio and a strong desire to learn&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stoke FM is a community radio station, which means that it\u2019s powered by you, the community of Revelstoke.<\/strong> It is a place where locals can produce and broadcast their own programs and participate in operating the station. It is a community space for people to meet and collaborate. Which is totally fun and potentially life-changing! It typically leads to individual creativity and self-empowerment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stoke FM is always looking for new radio hosts<\/strong>. Hosting a show is a fantastic way to show off your favorite playlists, boast about how you found that niche indie track before anyone else did, throw a dance party for your friends, or shout out to the cute girl you met on the trail.
