The News Show – 30 years of the Rogers Pass winter permitting system + 30 years of Gangsta’s Paradise
So far this year 6000 people have obtained a winter permit to tour in Rogers Pass, that’s a high for prior years, and we’re only mid-season. Jonas Hoke is a mountain safety specialist in Glacier National Park. Here he talks about the permitting system and reflects back on when it started, in 1995. We also hear from Coolio, who released Gangsta’s Paradise in 1995.
Also in the news, the City of Revelstoke is hosting an open house today (Feb. 20) regarding its comprehensive bylaw re-write. This affects what people can do on their property, parking, food security–basically how the city will develop in the future. Go check it out at the Community Centre from 10 am to noon, and at 7 pm.
