Stoke FM Knows the JAXA Moon Lander, Local Nordic Ski Athletes, and Tortoise on Wheels
The Japanese Space Agency (JAXA) were able to touch their Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) down on the Moon’s surface last week, but things didn’t go quite a hoped, with SLIM landing on a bit of an angle, preventing it’s solar panels from seeing sunlight for a time. However, the Sun came around, and SLIM’s batteries were able to be charged. SLIM isn’t worried about things being shady anymore. Follow the link below to see the pictures.

Local Nordic ski athletes Marlie Molinaro, Alexandra Luxmoore, and Maeve McLeod have been selected to Canada’s team to compete at the World Cup in February. Molinaro and McLeod will be part of the team competing in Canmore, however, Luxmoore will have to miss out because she’ll be competing at the World Junior Championships in Finland, which are taking place at the same time. Revelstoke athletes are representing big time!

A badly injured tortoise has a new lease on life after receiving 3D printed wheels, and other apparatuses to not only improve her mobility, but also replace damaged sections of her shell. WARNING: some of the pictures in the link below may be a little troubling, but the after pictures and videos are pretty heartwarming. Just ask Jenn.
